Autoclaves
The tireless for standard tasks - ingeniously simple and robust.
Quicklock
The simpler the design, the safer the lock! The lock can be opened and closed with one finger. Radially locking bolts are moved without applying any force. The passive chamber seal operates with virtually no wear.
The lid gasket is not subjected to any mechanical friction and can easily be replaced if required. The weight of the lid is completely balanced by a torsion spring. Effortless opening and closing. Any condensate which drips off the lid is collected and fed into the spent-steam condenser. The device and floor are kept dry.

Programs at the Push of a Button
The most important programs are pre-installed and can be opened at the push of a button:
- Sterilization of solids: With fast release of steam
- Sterilization of liquids: With variable natural cooling
- Sterilization of liquids: With rapid cooling for thermolabile materials
- Sterilization of liquids: With subsequent reheat cycle
- AGAR program: Prepares AGAR and keeps it ready for processing (thermostatic heating)
- Night program: Timer-controlled, load in the evening - sterile and ready for removal in the morning down to the minute, even over the weekend!
- Waste sterilization: Mixed load with a low liquid content
- Automatic standby operation to save energy
Dual Sensor System
Precise temperature control with additional pressure monitoring. This allows for controlled excess pressure during the heating phase, which reduces the batch time. Bright display with program and progress indicators.
Thermolock with Sterilization Time Control
The German ordinance on pressure vessels TRB 402 and DIN EN 61010-2 prescribe a thermolock for the sterilization of liquids. This thermolock prevents injuries to the operating personnel due to boiling delay. The lid can only be opened once the media temperature has also dropped below the reference value after pressure equalization. All parameters can be set individually before starting the program, and cannot be modified after program start for safety reasons. Reliable sterilization is ensured in this manner.
Heating
Electrical, with maximum efficiency, directly in the feed water. 3-level protection against overheating.
Exhaust Air Filter
Safety for individuals and the environment. Option for safe, emission-free sterilization of highly infectious germs and genetically modified materials. During the venting phase, the steam displaces unsterilized residual air from the chamber and passes it through a filter system. The surrounding air is protected against contamination as the cycle is running. Naturally, in-line sterilization of the exhaust air filter is performed. Due to the design, condensate sterilization is a matter of course. Any condensate which precipitates flows back into the chamber and gets sterilized. Discharge can be done safely.

The VARIO time and temperature control features four preset and one variable cycle. The variable cycle is stored in permanent memory so that it can be instantly recalled for the next use. The control shows a countdown of sterilisation time and current temperature at all times. Operation is very simple. The cycle temperature and time are selected by pressing either one of the four preset cycle buttons or the variable cycle button. If the variable cycle is chosen the temperature and time are then set to the values required. The Start button is then pressed and the unit automatically runs through the sterilisation cycle unattended. At the end of sterilisation an audible sound is given to allow the user to drain off the water, if the drying vacuum cycle is required. The unit then cools until it reaches a safe temperature for the contents to be removed, at which point another audible sound is given.
The VARIO is made from stainless steel with a polished exterior for easier cleaning. The lid is removable for full width access. Items to be sterilised can be placed in the inner liner provided with the machine. Alternately, Dressing Drums and Wire Mesh Baskets are available. The lid locking device is comprised of six wing nuts and six locking lugs. This ensures that the lid cannot be opened while the vessel is under pressure. After the sterilising period, a condensing vacuum is drawn to aid drying. This is particularly useful for dressings and drapes.

Description
Introducing the new Touchclave-V Series, an economical, cylindrical chambered autoclave range, ideal for the modern laboratory.
The Touchclave-V series offers an economical autoclave solution for installation in laboratories with limited space thanks to their small physical footprint, and are ideal for laboratories which do not have access to a drain or direct water supply.
There are 2 variants available starting with the Touchclave-V+ with it’s intuitive touchscreen control panel capable of storing up to 10 cycles, which is succeeded by the Touchclave-V+ Dry which has both touchscreen controls and comes with a pre/post vacuum system as standard, providing users with the most versatile option capable of sterilizing most loads.
The Touchclave-V uses submerged heaters within the chamber to generate steam and in-chamber sensors prevent the cycle from starting or continuing if there’s insufficient water in the chamber. Water levels can be topped up and drained manually or automatically (Touchclave-V+ Dry model only).
Complete with built in door safety features to ensure that the cycle cannot start unless the door is properly closed and locked, additionally the door cannot be opened until the chamber has reached atmospheric pressure and temperature once a cycle has been run.

The Ecofill Dry Benchtop Autoclave Series is designed to sterilize and dry wrapped items commonly used in healthcare, such as wrapped surgical packs, autoclavable peel packs, and sterilization pouches. Larger than most Class B autoclaves, it provides a bigger sterilization space for processing more items simultaneously or for large wrapped instruments that don’t fit in a standard Class B autoclave.
Astell’s Ecofill system ensures water is only in the sterilization chamber when required and stored in the Ecofill reservoir when not needed, creating a drier chamber environment upon cycle completion. The Ecofill Dry represents the next evolution of the Ecofill system.
However, evolution necessitates change. The Ecofill Dry has lost the Containment Level 3/Biosafety Level 3 compatibility found in the Classic AMB, and unlike both the Classic and the Ecofill is not recommended for liquids or fluids. Yet these loses bring a benefit unique to the Astell Benchtop range – drying. The process accomplished by circulating hot filtered air around the autoclave chamber after the sterilization stage is complete and water returned to the Ecofill reservoir. View a comparison of the Classic, Ecofill, and Ecofill Dry here.
Each AMB Ecofill Dry includes a shelf rack, a pouch rack, and two wire shelves for optimized positioning of sterilization pouches, peel packs, and wrapped surgical items. This ensures peak drying effectiveness even at maximum load capacity, thereby maximizing energy efficiency.
Ecofill further enhances energy efficiency by storing heat in the water returned to the reservoir after cycles, and running cycles back-to-back maximizes energy savings. The system is also time and labour-saving compared to the Classic AMB, reducing the need for water refills.
As an AMB tabletop autoclave, the Ecofill Dry Benchtop Autoclave is part of the Plug and Play range. It requires only a desktop space near a domestic plug socket for installation, with no plumbing needed.
Like all Astell autoclaves, the Ecofill Dry Benchtop autoclaves are equipped with an advanced touchscreen control computer, an intuitive user interface, customizable cycles, and extensive capacity to store cycle data.
Compliant with BS EN 13060:2014; ISO 9001:2015; PED 2014/68/EU; and ANSI/AAMI ST55:2010 standards.

Astell benchtop 'Ecofill' units are among the most energy efficient autoclaves available. The pressure vessel design ensures the absolute minimum amount of water is used during a sterilization cycle, which not only means comparably low power consumption, but also very quick heating and cooling.
Astell's Ecofill design has an integral reservoir and an in-built 'autofill' water re-circulation system. Once the reservoir is filled, this provides water for up to 15 cycles, and also acts as a collection vessel for condensate and the water that is automatically returned from the chamber at the end of each cycle, minimising water usage.
A benchtop autoclave has a variety of uses, being suitable for sterilizing laboratory glassware, plastic receptacles and containers, petri dishes, un-wrapped instruments, media, and occasional discard loads.
In addition to laboratory use Astell benchtop autoclaves are ideal for process manufacturing, veterinary and medical healthcare industries and many others.
