HI200M is a compact and lightweight magnetic mini stirrer with an AISI 316 stainless steel cover. The stainless steel cover is ideal for stirring samples undergoing an exothermic reaction that could damage the cover of a plastic stirrer.
The stirring speed is adjustable from 100 to 1000 revolutions per minute.
The HI200M stirrer takes up very little space, which is very useful when space is limited on the laboratory bench.

Ideally, the sample to be analysed should be stirred when carrying out electrochemical measurements. The use of a magnetic stirrer enables good mixing and homogeneity of the sample in terms of consistency and temperature. Stirring the sample also helps to speed up the response time for a sensor to achieve a stable measurement.

Stainless steel cover
The HI200M agitator is supplied with an AISI 316 stainless steel cover on the ABS body. The cover is an ideal solution for applications where exothermic reactions occur. AISI 316 steel is known for its increased resistance to chloride corrosion.
Speedsafe
In the laboratory, a sample is often taken from a stirrer before the speed is appropriately reduced. Normally this would cause the internal motor to accelerate until it is damaged. To control the speed due to changes in viscosity or removal of the sample from the stirrer, the HI200M magnetic mini stirrer is equipped with the Speedsafe mechanism. With Speedsafe, a speed sensor (opto-sensor) is coupled to an FVC (frequency-to-voltage converter) to monitor the stirring speed. When the speed reaches a preset maximum value, the speed limiter switches off the VCO (voltage controlled oscillator) to slow down the motor speed. This ensures that if the load is suddenly removed from the agitator, the motor will not accelerate to such a high speed that it is dangerous for both the user and the agitator; a feature not often found in conventional agitators.
Safety protection
For safety reasons, the HI200M is equipped with a replaceable fuse in the event of a short circuit. The HI200M circuit is earthed via the housing for additional protection.
