• The analysis of urine specimens from hospital and home based patients is an important part of ‘first line’ diagnosis. It is therefore important to gain the specimen effectively and easily.
• Midstream urine collector kits are suitable for most category patients.
• All kits include patient instructions, patient identification label, an “easy collection” funnel, and a specimen container with screw cap lid.

Each kit contains: two pads, a syringe, a urine specimen container and instruction leaflet.

To collect a urine sample place a pad inside the nappy (first ensuring that the patient is clean and has not used any creams of powders).  Check every 10 minutes to see if the pad is wet. If it is not wet within 1/2 hour or the pad is soiled just start this process again.

Once you have a wet pad lay it wet side up and using the syringe extract the urine from the pad.  Then deposit the urine into the specimen bottle and complete the details on the label.
