UV-C disinfection - What happens?
- UV-C light with a wavelength of 254nm modifies the DNA of a micro-organism and thus stops reproduction.
- If viruses or bacteria cannot reproduce, they die and are no longer infectious.
- The formation of resistance to UV-C light is impossible.

Advantages over units with filters (UV-C disinfection works even without expensive filters)
- No dusty filters: Units with filters not only clean the air of viruses, but also attract dust. So the filters are very quickly clogged with house dust, hair and dirt and have to be changed.
- No infected filters: The filters are infected with viruses and must be professionally replaced regularly and disposed of properly. UV-C light disinfection does not produce hazardous waste.
- No loud background noise: Disinfection units with filters require a very powerful fan, which is correspondingly loud. With UV-C disinfection, there is (depending on the device) a non-disturbing background noise of maximum 35db.
- No costs for new filters: Due to the regular, but necessary replacement of the filters, costs arise that can be saved by the long-lasting light sources in the case of disinfection with UV-C light.
