Usbeck safety burner, DIN, safety pilot, gas tap, pilot flame, air regulation

This compact burner is ideal for all laboratory applications where precise and safe flames are required. In addition to an integrated ignition safety device and a finely adjustable gas tap, the device impresses with a reliable pilot flame and variable air regulation. Compared to similar laboratory burners, the model is designed for maximum safety and durability. Thanks to its robust construction and compliance with relevant standards, it offers a high level of reliability, especially with frequent use.

Effective flame control for everyday laboratory work

The burner has numerous setting options to cover various requirements in chemical, biological or physical laboratories. The pilot flame serves as an energy-saving interim solution when full burner output is not required for a short time. The flame can be adapted to the respective application using the air regulation, which enables efficient working. The combination of ignition safety device and gas tap also ensures a high level of safety: if the flame ignites unintentionally, the device automatically cuts off the gas supply and prevents dangerous gas build-up.

A typical feature of DIN burners, according to DIN 30665, is that they cannot be switched off completely, as a small flame always remains when the gas tap is closed. This residual flame is intended to prevent a gas-air mixture from accumulating unnoticed in the burner. To extinguish the flame completely, the gas must be disconnected at a central shut-off in the laboratory. This safety measure can prevent potential ignition hazards, which is particularly advantageous in busy laboratory areas.Important technical features

- Standard-compliant design in accordance with DIN 30665
- Integrated ignition safety device to prevent dangerous gas leaks
- Variable gas tap for precise regulation
- Economy flame to reduce gas consumption
- Air regulation to adjust the flame intensity
- Temperatures up to 1520 °C (natural gas) or 1550 °C (propane gas)
- Gas consumption of 110 l/h for natural gas or 65 l/h for propane gas

In addition, the burner offers an output of 1.7 kW for natural gas and 2 kW for propane gas, which is completely sufficient for the majority of typical laboratory applications. With a height of 160 mm and a weight of 370 g, it can be easily integrated into existing laboratory set-ups or fume cupboards. The tube diameter is 13 mm and the burner head has a diameter of 17 mm. If you need additional stability, you can request an optional adhesive base.

Certifications and standards

As a laboratory burner, the appliance fulfils the strict requirements of DIN 30665 and has DIN-DVGW reg. no. DG2411CM0440. This proves that the burner complies with the high German standards for gas appliances. These certifications are of great importance in professional laboratory environments, as they support safe and compliant operation.

Examples of use

In laboratory practice, this model is often used to heat liquids in Erlenmeyer flasks, beakers or test tubes. Annealing metals or ceramic parts is also possible without any problems. Thanks to the controlled air supply, the appliance is also suitable for the gentle annealing of microbiological equipment such as inoculation loops or heat tips. It is also used for heating solids in porcelain dishes or for the careful sterilisation of small tools. The high flame temperature enables the processing and melting of substances such as sodium acetate or for the short-term substance purification of various organic compounds.

FAQ

How can the flame be set precisely?

The flame is adjusted using a gas tap and the air regulator. First open the gas flow and define the desired flame height using the gas tap, then regulate the air supply to adjust the flame colour and temperature.

Is the burner equally suitable for natural gas and propane gas?

Yes, it can be operated with both natural gas and propane gas. With natural gas, the appliance delivers a flame temperature of around 1520 °C and with propane gas around 1550 °C.

Why does the burner continue to burn despite the gas tap being closed?

According to DIN 30665, a small flame continues to burn because the burner should not be switched off completely. This residual flame serves to reduce the risk of unnoticed gas leaks. To switch off completely, the central shut-off in the laboratory must be closed.

How does the ignition safety device work?

The ignition safety device recognises if the flame goes out accidentally and automatically interrupts the gas supply. This prevents uncontrolled gas leaks and increases work safety.

Conclusion

With its robust design, reliable ignition protection and wide range of setting options, this laboratory torch fulfils professional requirements in terms of safety and efficiency. It impresses with its standard-compliant design in accordance with DIN 30665, solid performance and high temperature properties. Both the precise regulation of the flame and the integrated pilot flame offer maximum flexibility in daily laboratory use. Whether for heating liquids, annealing metals or sterilising microbiological equipment - this appliance is a well thought-out solution for a wide range of work areas where a safe and stable flame is essential.

Q: Saves time

A: This reason might be the most obvious, but it’s a clear benefit of an FAQ page. Not only does the FAQ page save customers time, but it also saves employees time as well. Having an FAQ page ensures customers don’t have to sit on the phone for hours waiting for simple answers, and employees don’t have to individually answer all questions.

Q: Earns trust

A: Information is available at the click of a button, but as we all know, information is not always true. Because of this, customers are more skeptical than ever before. They hunt for products by sifting through reviews, looking at the product on multiple websites, and doing price checking across the internet.

Q: Provides new insights

A: It’s difficult to get into the head of a shopper. Some buy on impulse, and others buy after thorough research. By tracking the clicks on your FAQ page, you can gather insights about your product or service that you didn’t know before. You can then inform your product team of these insights. From there, the product team can make changes to improve the product or experience.

Q: Drives internal page views

A: If you want your FAQ to be extremely thorough, which it should be, you can link to resources within your FAQ for your customers to find out more information. Whether you link to a blog that goes into more detail or a product page, this content helps the shoppers get the full story before making a purchase.

A: Prevents negative reviews

A: When looking through negative reviews, there’s almost always one thing in common: the problem could’ve been avoided.
