DURAN® borosilicate 3.3 glass Autoclave bottle with the dedicated DURAN® Push-on Rubber Sealing Cap (supplied separately as order code 292063002) is the ideal container and closure system for autoclaving and storing sterile rodent drinking water, microbiology media, and other liquids. The autoclave bottle is used with a unique self-venting and self-sealing rubber cap. The push-on cap precisely fits over the specially shaped beaded rim of the DURAN® Autoclave bottle neck. The cap design allows the automatic venting of steam and air during the heating section of the steam sterilisation cycle. Afterwards the cap automatically creates a hermetic seal at the end of the cooling cycle as a vacuum is formed inside the bottle. The DURAN® Autoclave bottle and cap can be used for the short-term storage of the sterilised liquids. The cap can be easily removed when required by pulling on the side tab, reducing the risk of contact with the sterile contents.
