Usbeck Bunsen burner, gas tap, pilot flame, air regulation

The Usbeck Bunsen burner, gas tap, pilot flame, air regulation is a robust and flexible laboratory device that has been specially designed for precise heating and sterilisation tasks in chemical, biological and medical facilities. Thanks to its high-quality workmanship, this burner is ideal for users who want a uniform, reliable flame quality and want to organise their day-to-day work in the laboratory efficiently. Compared to comparable systems, it impresses with its particularly finely adjustable air supply and an integrated pilot flame, which increases work safety and ease of use.

Features and mode of operation

Thanks to the straight burner tube and the lateral air inflow, the flame can be adapted very precisely to a wide range of requirements. As soon as the gas flows in, the air is regulated via a movable air sleeve to vary the flame pattern - from reducing to oxidising. This is particularly important when it comes to influencing combustion or setting temperature zones for certain reactions. The integrated pilot flame also makes it possible to optimise gas consumption without having to extinguish the burner completely.

As the DIN version is a standardised burner in accordance with DIN 30665, a small flame remains after the gas tap or needle valve is closed in order to meet certain safety requirements. Complete separation only takes place at the central shut-off in the laboratory. In addition, some models are labelled with DIN-DVGW reg. no. NG-2211AN0133, which underpins additional safety and quality standards when handling gas appliances.

Technical data at a glance

- Operation optionally with natural gas (1500 °C) or propane gas (1520 °C)
- Gas consumption: approx. 110 l/h for natural gas, 50 l/h for propane gas
- Load: 1.1 kW (natural gas) or 1.25 kW (propane gas)
- Height: 155 mm, pipe diameter: 14 mm, head diameter: 17 mm
- Weight: 225 g (handy and easy to transport)
- Optional adhesive foot solution available for an extra charge
- Complies with DIN 30665 and, if applicable, DIN-DVGW reg. no. NG-2211AN0133

The material and manufacturing quality is designed for a long service life, which means that this laboratory burner works consistently reliably over a long period of time, even with intensive use. The fine needle valve control (on models without DIN approval) supports precise flame control, while the DIN-compliant designs ensure a high level of operational safety.

Certifications and standards

As a special design in accordance with DIN 30665, it ensures that all safety-relevant standards for gas burners in the laboratory environment are met. The DIN-DVGW registration also indicates that this product fulfils strict requirements with regard to tightness, functional safety and ergonomics. This makes the burner suitable for routine operation as well as for use in demanding research facilities, where reliability and conformity with applicable regulations have top priority.

Application examples

- Heating and annealing laboratory utensils: Ideal for sterilising small glass and metal instruments
. - Carrying out flame tests: Whether for the detection of cations or the burning behaviour of various substances
- Homogenisation of samples: Rapid heating and uniform heat distribution for precise analyses.
- Drying and outgassing: Ideally suited for gently drying materials such as filters, glassware or ceramic parts.

Depending on the intended use, natural gas or propane gas can be used, allowing flexibility in different laboratory environments. For special requirements, the pilot flame is suitable for gently bringing reagents or sensitive samples up to temperature.

FAQs

How can the flame temperature be optimally set?

The flame temperature is determined by the amount of gas and the air content. Moving the air sleeve regulates the oxygen input. More air produces a hotter, blue flame, less air produces a softer, yellow flame.

Is operation with propane gas just as safe as with natural gas?

Yes, if connected correctly and the DIN standard is observed, operation with propane gas is just as safe. Make sure you have the right connections and the prescribed pressure reducer.

Can the burner be switched off completely?

In the DIN versions, a small safety flame remains in order to fulfil the standard requirement in accordance with DIN 30665. The gas flow is switched off completely at the central shut-off in the laboratory.

What role does the optional holding foot play?

An adhesive foot provides increased grip on smooth or inclined surfaces and is particularly helpful if the burner is moved frequently or if there are sources of vibration in the vicinity.

Conclusion

This laboratory burner impresses with its customisable air supply, stable burner design and integrated safety standard in accordance with DIN 30665. Flexible use with natural gas or propane gas enables versatile applications in research, analysis and training laboratories. The optional adhesive foot solution also emphasises the high practical relevance and makes the burner an ideal companion in everyday laboratory work. Anyone looking for a reliable, finely adjustable and durable burner will find this model to be a convincing solution that ensures smooth processes in the laboratory while consistently taking occupational safety into account.

Q: Saves time

A: This reason might be the most obvious, but it’s a clear benefit of an FAQ page. Not only does the FAQ page save customers time, but it also saves employees time as well. Having an FAQ page ensures customers don’t have to sit on the phone for hours waiting for simple answers, and employees don’t have to individually answer all questions.

Q: Earns trust

A: Information is available at the click of a button, but as we all know, information is not always true. Because of this, customers are more skeptical than ever before. They hunt for products by sifting through reviews, looking at the product on multiple websites, and doing price checking across the internet.

Q: Provides new insights

A: It’s difficult to get into the head of a shopper. Some buy on impulse, and others buy after thorough research. By tracking the clicks on your FAQ page, you can gather insights about your product or service that you didn’t know before. You can then inform your product team of these insights. From there, the product team can make changes to improve the product or experience.

Q: Drives internal page views

A: If you want your FAQ to be extremely thorough, which it should be, you can link to resources within your FAQ for your customers to find out more information. Whether you link to a blog that goes into more detail or a product page, this content helps the shoppers get the full story before making a purchase.

A: Prevents negative reviews

A: When looking through negative reviews, there’s almost always one thing in common: the problem could’ve been avoided.
